Chic Mid-Season Workwear

We’re moving into that awkward in-between season phase, where it’s not quite the frigid bleak of Winter, but not yet the sun-warmed kiss of Spring…so you (and your wardrobe) might be a bit confused as to what is apropos for the office. Well, we’ve got some fool-proof solutions for stylishly bridging that mid-season gap!

Thin turtleneck and a blazer – This is an easy solution for keeping warm while still looking polished. Be sure to look for turtlenecks in thinner fabrics and more tailored cuts, so that it doesn’t look too bulky under the blazer. You could even opt for a thin turtleneck in Lycra blend, since the blazer will help to keep even the most form-fitting top from looking overly-risqué. Some fabulous options include turtlenecks like this, this, this, and this…to be paired with blazers like this, this, this, and this.

The LBS (Little Black Suit) and a pop of color – Yes, the little black suit…like this, this, and this… is a solid go-to for almost any non-Summer work day, but in this in-between gap before Spring, it’s the perfect opportunity to introduce the coming season a bright pop of color and pattern…and tops like this, this, and this are perfect!

Wide-leg trousers and long waterfall coat – The key to pulling off this look is to make sure your top is fitted, and in a thinner fabric. That will keep the silhouette lean, despite the volume from the pants and coats like this, this, and this. Relaxed, wide-leg pants, such as these, these, and these, can also be styled with a long, loose vest, like this, this, and this. The length of the vest still adds a layer of warmth, mimics the breezy feel of the pants, and manages to reveal the lean top underneath.

Pencil skirt and knee-high boots – During this time of year, everyone expects a skirt to be paired with a pair of tights. And, yes, that combo will always work and look fabulous. But by pairing pencil skirts like this, this, and this, with knee-high boots, like these, these, these, you keep all the warmth of the skirt/tights, but you’ll be getting that warmth thanks to an unexpected twist with the boots!

Bright prints and cream-colored anything – This could be the ideal mid-season pairing! The words “bright” and “prints” have Spring written all over them, and the temperateness of the cream color provides the perfect, warm-edged bridge from Winter. Some chic cream pieces include this, this, and this, to be paired with bright prints like this, this, and this.
