Easy tips for updating your wardrobe for spring

With winter hopefully a distant memory and the heat of the sun slowly beginning to bear down on us, it is time to banish those heavy jumpers and winter boots and bring a bit of life, and color, back into your wardrobe. Spring is notoriously a time for fresh, new beginnings and there is no excuse for leaving your wardrobe high and dry. Here are some quick and easy tips to help update your wardrobe for spring.

  • Add a pop of colour: Spring is the beginning of better weather for most of us, and with the end of the dark, grey winter it is time to jazz up your wardrobe with a little color. As the sun starts to shine so should your clothes. There is no need to go crazy, a few bright tee’s here, some color popping skinny jeans there, will do the trick. Team these with the blacks, whites and greys from your wardrobe staples and you will find yourself with some great casual spring looks.
  • Ditch the heavy coats and invest in some lighter jackets: Spring can be a time of mixed weather, so while you might be tempted to ditch the coat altogether, think about investing in a lighter jacket. The days might start feeling a little warmer but the nights can still be quite cool, so a small jacket will help to keep you warm as winter turns to spring. Pick a cute trench coat, a fashionable denim jacket, a light blazer or rock out in some faux leather.
  • Florals and print dresses: With spring in full swing and summer just around the corner, nothing looks better, or more summery than a gorgeous floral print. Whatever the occasion you are celebrating this season, pair it with a patterned dress and you will be sure to be the belle of the ball.
  • It’s all about accessorizing: Do not miss out on accessorizing to suit with the season, from bright, quirky jewellery, sunglasses, a new lighter scarf or maybe even rock a stylish hat. Spring and summer are great times to really show off your accessories (as they are not hiding under layers of clothes) and complete any outfit.
  • Edgy spring boots: The heavy winter boots are gone but it is not quite time for summer sandals, so why not ease through the seasons with some more lightweight, edgier boots. Not too heavy and not too light, a pair of lighter boots will help you through whatever weather you encounter in this transitional season, go as neutral or as quirky as you like.

Whatever you go for be sure to tailor it to your own unique style. Spring is a time of new beginnings, use this to rediscover the hidden depths of your wardrobe or start over and give yourself a brand new look for 2016.
