Trend of the Season: Art Prints

Who is your favorite artist? This is a question that people ask each other from time to time – they want to know something deeper about your interests and your view of the world. The artists that you love say a lot about your personality and your outlook of the world.

That is why it is so exciting that the latest trend is to wear your heart on your sleeve, literally, by wearing art prints. These aren’t just graphics, these are pieces that stand out from everyone else on the street. They aren’t just patterns or images that you don’t know: they are images that stand the test of time and works that will outlive any stripe or polka dot.

Start At Your Feet

If you like to be comfortable when you are walking around town, you can always put art prints on your feet. This will allow you to get away with a more casual shoe while still being fashionable. For example, Calvin Klein just released a wonderful pair of sneakers where you can look at one of Andy Warhol’s most iconic portraits. You’ll be fun and funky AND fashionable and still be comfortable.

If you aren’t the type of person to like sneakers, you can always get more comfortable casual shoes that still have fun art prints – you can get anything from funky and fun to sweet and memorable.

Make it Subtle

One thing you can do, if you don’t know a lot about art or you don’t want to field questions about your outfit is to wear something that is subtly artistic. For example, you can wear an art deco piece of jewelry or a mosaic print dress that looks artistic, but doesn’t scream art.

Keep It Small

Another way to keep yourself subtle when you wear art is to keep that art small. For example, we’ve already talked about shoes, which are fairly small. You can also use bags, accessories, jewelry, or even office tools that will keep art in your life without screaming it.

If you are going to wear art, it is important that you do know something about the artist or the print. Instead of just buying something, make sure that you do the research and you understand about that – just in case someone does ask you.
