Mad for Plaid

Plaid seems to be one of the most versatile types of patterns around – you can wear it can look preppy, you can wear it and be a little bit punk, or you can be somewhere in between. Mostly, what you look like will depend on what else you pair your plaid with and the attitude that you have when you wear it.

So how can you wear plaid? Here are a few different options that you might have:

Blazer

Of course, one of the best ways to wear the plaid style is to wear it as a blazer. Plaid blazers can be used to make any outfit seem a little fancier and more appropriate for any occasion. Luckily, there are plenty of options when it comes to plaid on a blazer. You can get anything from a blazer with small, tidy plaid that you can only see from up close to a more statement making plaid blazer.

In a Unique Cut

Of course, blazers and school girl skirts are a great way to wear plaid this year, but what about going a little rouge and trying something new? You can do this by wearing a plaid shirt that has unique details or accessories OR you can wear a plaid shirt that isn’t the typical button up style. Go for a shirt that is more structured and professional looking, or one that uses a lighter fabric that just has plaid printed onto it.

Traditional Skirt

It seems silly to even try to mention plaid clothing without mentioning the circle skirt. This is always the classic way to wear plaid, especially for women who remember the most famous plaid skirt of all time. While most people have this because it is classic and comfortable, you will also enjoy having a built-in Halloween costume at all times.

Shoes

Looking to make a huge statement with what you are wearing? A little afraid to wear plaid clothing because of the way it makes you look? Well, you don’t have to be afraid of anything or look any further to make a statement – plaid shoes are a great way to do both. Plaid heels or flats add just a little po of color of pattern that will help you to stand out. However, if you want to go even further, plaid boots in funky patterns and colors can really make you stand out.

So, what’s the verdict? Are you mad for plaid (how very!) or is this a pattern that you don’t really want to wear?
