Kate Middleton Also Deals With Toddler Tantrums

Like many parents this year, Kate Middleton and Prince William have been home with their children, like, all day. The royals have been homeschooling Prince George (7) and Princess Charlotte (5), but Louis is only 2, so he’s still very much in the active and curious toddler stage. If you’re a mom who’s been fielding tantrum day after day during quarantine, just know that Kate is on your side.

During an interview for the “5 Big Questions on the Under Fives” survey conducted by the Early Years project, someone asked her about how she manages “toddler tantrums, especially with multiple children.”

Kate’s response? “Yes, that’s a hard one. I’d also like to ask the experts myself!”

Early in the pandemic, the duchess shared that George gets upset during homeschool, because Charlotte has projects that are more fun than his.

“George gets very upset because he just wants to do all of Charlotte’s projects. Spider sandwiches are far cooler than literacy work!” Kate said.

During the Early Years Q&A, Kate also shared that why she has taken a special interest in early childhood and families with young children:

“I think people assume that because I am a parent, that’s why I’ve taken an interest in the Early Years. I think this really is bigger than that. This isn’t just about happy, healthy children. This is about the society I hope we could and can become. Right from the early days, meeting lots of people who are suffering with addiction or poor mental health and hearing time and time again that their troubles now in adulthood stem right back from early childhood experience,” she said.
