The Best Gossip From Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ ‘Ultra-Private’ Wedding

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas successfully kept their French wedding off Diplo’s Instagram Live. (“They took my phone from me and put in a holding cell during the ceremony,” he joked.) But Entertainment Tonight and E! got some good intel from sources about what the couple’s ceremony was like at Château du Martinay in Carpentras.

The vow exchange was very intense, sources told both outlets.

“Their love really shows and watching them together touched everyone at the wedding. They couldn’t keep their eyes off each other,” Entertainment Tonight‘s source said. “It was emotional for everyone involved during the ceremony because Sophie and Joe sweetly welled up. They had such happy tears, everyone felt their emotion.”

E!’s source concurred, telling the outlet, “Joe and Sophie both teared up while reading their vows. Everyone stood and cheered, and they had huge smiles as they left as a couple. It was an emotional ceremony.”

Turner’s sister-in-law Priyanka Chopra apparently played a big role helping Turner and Jonas plan their wedding from a different country, Entertainment Tonight was told.

“Sophie and Priyanka really bonded while planning the wedding,” its source said. “Priyanka, having just experienced it, was so helpful with details and they have become so close. The wedding went off without any issues at all; it was exactly how Sophie and Joe had planned it, which isn’t always an easy feat when throwing a wedding so far from home. They wanted an ultra-private wedding in the South of France.”

The couple wanted a royal wedding-style “proper” wedding after their quickie Las Vegas one, the outlet’s source added.

“They both are spontaneous and loved their Vegas wedding but there was never a question as to if they would get married ‘properly,’ as they referred to it, later in the year,” Entertainment Tonight‘s source said. “They just needed to plan so they could create a perfect fairy tale, which is what they did. Sophie wanted to have a very traditional, almost royal wedding and never ever considered wearing anything but white. France was the obvious choice for both of them because they felt it’s not only truly beautiful, but also an ideal spot in the summer for everyone to come together.”

And both enjoyed a little to drink before their ceremony, while they got ready with friends separately. “Sophie was drinking champagne with her girlfriends and brunch was also delivered,” E!s’ source said. “Joe had a few shots with his groomsmen to ease the nerves.”
