Trends of the Fall: Capes

If you are looking for something to wear that is warm, comfortable, and will always fit you no matter what, capes are a great option. This fall, capes are more in style than they’ve ever been – which is great news because that means you can get the styles that you want.

Still, there are many different styles that you may want to consider.

Professional Capes

If you are looking for a cape that you can wear all day long, consider a professional style cape. These are the capes that you can wear with your business attire and still look like you can run the board meeting. These tend to be a little tighter, have buttons, and aren’t necessarily for warmth. Instead, they are structured.

Professional capes can be worn with just about anything to add a level of sophistication to your look.

Casual Capes

If you aren’t wearing your cape to the office, there are so many other styles that you can try. One great look you may want to attempt is a more artistic casual cape. These tend to have works of art, prints, or unique fabrics incorporated into the style.

If you are feeling adventurous, this is one of the best ways to improve your wardrobe and push the line.

Classic Cape

Of course, the one style of cape that we all love is the classic style. This is the cape that is black, with tassels, and has a shawl neck. If you do not own one of these capes, it is the most important purchase you can make. You can add a cape to almost any outfit and make it a great one.

Capes for Warmth

For those of us who live in colder parts of the world, capes can add warmth as well. For these capes, you want to look for those that are made out of knit materials, those that have fur necklines, and those that have latches in the front.

This style of cape is perfect for those that like to layer – you can add a cape overtop almost anything.

Do you own any capes? If not, are you planning to add any to your closet this year?
