How to style: A day at the beach

If you are lucky enough to live within driving distance of the shoreline or even lakes then your summer days might be filled with days at the beach. When it comes to beach living there are a few essentials which you might want to consider adding to your wardrobe to ensure you are always beach or lake ready as soon as the sun is up.

Swimwear

Whether you plan on swimming in the ocean or not you will want to get yourself a couple of great pieces of swimwear. Swimwear is great if you are going to be in and out of the ocean but also great for sunbathing too (but do not forget your sunscreen, even on a cloudy day the sun’s rays can still damage your skin and cause you to get burnt). If you do not want to wear anything too revealing you can opt for a great one piece. These used to be the forte of swimmers, small children and older ladies, but nowadays you can get many stylish swimsuits which will keep you covered and make you look incredible. An alternative is a two piece tankini, with a long top and bottoms. This will keep you covered but also not be as restrictive as a swimsuit. Your other alternative is a stylish bikini. There are so many options and you can select a matching top and bottom or mix and match.

A good cover up

Between travelling to and from the beach you might want to just throw on some denim shorts and a loose t-shirt, but while on the beach you probably will want to consider a beach cover up. When at the beach you will find there is little shade (unless you take your own umbrella) so you will want to make sure you can cover up your skin when it is needed. It can be very hot in direct sunlight so be sure to keep your sun lotion topped up, cover up your skin and seek shade during the suns hottest hours.

Beach Flip flops

Not the easiest to walk in on the sand but they are the best. Sand and water can really ruin shoes so a great pair of flip flops will help, they will not ruin and are also easy to get any sand out of once you leave the beach.

Beach towel

Not only will you need something to lay on while you are at the beach but you will also need something to dry yourself off with if you take a dip in the water and a big beach towel is always a good idea.

A roomy beach bag

You always end up with a lot of things you need to take to the beach so it is best to invest in a roomy beach bag. From swimwear to sunglasses, beach towels, sun lotion, a good book and maybe even some snacks, you will need plenty of room to keep everything in check.
