Fall in Lansing means only one thing: MSU Football Saturdays! My dog James and I have our fair share of MSU swag—most of James’ apparel is already from Meijer, like his go-to jersey and bandana.

As for me, I have countless MSU sweatshirts and tees (you really can’t have too many) and when I spotted this beautiful poncho at Meijer, it had my name all over it. I truly love ponchos—they’re effortless, versatile and I love the boho vibe it lends to a look. This is the most stylish, functional option to have in my closet for MSU game days.

I layered it over a white tank, which is perfect for warm days – but as it cools down, I plan to layer it over a leather jacket, long-sleeved tee or sweatshirt. It’s the super chic version of tailgate style! I love the Spartan green, white and grey stripes, the fringe, and it even has an embroidered Spartan helmet on the bottom left side. I thought it was a steal at $29.99!

Since James already has a bandana and MSU jersey from Meijer, I picked a grey Spartan tee and the large MSU leash. The leash is available in three widths (perfect for dogs of all sizes), but I love a big, bold leash. And when it comes to tailgate style, the bolder you are, the better. We both bleed green!
