Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have had a very passionate and public relationship and were engaged after less than a year of dating in October 2021. They shared photos from the beach proposal in Montecito, California.
They ended up having quite a few weddings ceremonies, one in las Vegas, one in a Santa Barbara clerk’s office to make things legal, and one in Italy. This might all seem fast, but they have actually been friends and neighbors for quite some time. They both have homes in Calabasas but have been in other relationships.
Kardashian has three children with her ex, Scott Disick: Mason, Penelope, and Reign. Barker has two children: Landon and Alabama, with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler, and is the step-dad to Moakler’s daughter, Atiana Cecilia De La Hoya.
In June, Kardashian and Barker announced they were expecting their first child together.
Here’s Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s complete relationship timeline.
The couple was seen together in Palm Springs at Kris Jenner’s home there, sparking rumors they might be dating. People reported in late January that it was official, with a source saying, “They’re in Palm Springs together. They’ve been dating for about a month or two.” The source added, “Travis has liked her for a while.”
E! reported they went to dinner at Matsuhisa in Los Angeles, and an eyewitness told the publication that “they seem very connected, very close. Travis took her hand, and they giggled as they started having a little thumb war with one another. It was playful and sweet. They were talking constantly and very engaged with one another. It seems like such a natural fit.”
They spent that Valentine’s Day together, according to Page Six. Barker went semi-Instagram official by sharing a photo of a diamond anklet that he gave her on his Instagram Story. Kardashian shared an ode to her new boyfriend on her Instagram Story: “Roses are red / Violets are blue / Garlic bread / Blink-182,” the poem read.
She later went official-official with a picture of her hand and Barker’s entwined. Barker commented “🖤” on the post. A source told People at the time,“Kourtney is very happy with Travis. She wanted to confirm their relationship, because it’s something positive.”
In early March, Barker made an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. Barrymore asked Barker about dating with kids, and he took the opportunity to praise Kardashian.
“Up until now, I would date girls who didn’t have kids, and I find it kind of hard because I think they would have trouble understanding, like, ‘Why don’t you want to go to dinner every night with me? Or why don’t you want to see me every night?’,” Barker said. “And now, I’m spending time with a woman who’s a great mom, who’s a great friend, and you don’t have to worry about any of those things. It just comes natural.”
Later in March, they were photographed at UFC 260: Miocic vs. Ngannou 2 fight, alongside friends Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly.
They took their first family vacation in April, heading to Deer Valley, Utah. Kardashian shared pics featuring Alabama and Atiana on snowmobiles.
Kardashian called Barker her boyfriend for the first time in a TikTok posted by Barker’s daughter, Alabama, while playing the viral “Pass the Phone” challenge.
“I’m passing the phone to my boyfriend,” she said.
Barker also shared content from the vacation, including some videos from the slopes.
They spent that Easter together as well, and Kris Jenner shared pics of the family gathering on Instagram.
“Happy Easter, and thank you @callawaygolf #irvingazoff for making our Easter so special!!! 🙏🐰🐣🐥🙏 and thank you for the @coreygamble @realtristan13 @travisscott @travisbarker that are already on the golf course!!!!!!! LOL #impatient,” Jenner captioned the post.
That month, a source told Entertainment Tonight that things had become “way more serious.”
“This is the happiest Kourtney has been in a while, and her family is thrilled for her,” the source said. “Kourtney and Travis’ kids get along great, and all have the best time together. Kourtney’s been trying to keep their relationship as private as she can on social media, but they’re both super into each other and cute together.”
Then Barker got a tattoo reading “Kourtney” on his chest.
For the reality TV star’s 42nd birthday, Barker gave her a huge bouquet.
And on Instagram, he wrote, “I F-CKING LOVE YOU! 🖤 YOU’RE A BLESSING TO THIS WORLD HAPPY BIRTHDAY.”
They headed back to Utah later that month.
For Mother’s Day, Barker gave Kardashian more flowers.
And he got another tattoo of the words “I love you,” in her handwriting.
Kardashian helped Barker take his first flight since 2008 after surviving a crash 13 years prior. He captioned his post about the flight to Mexico, “With you anything is possible.”
They headed to Italy to celebrate.
Shortly after, Kardashian’s ex Scott Disick sent an Instagram DM to one of The Kardashian star’s ex-boyfriends, Younes Bendjima, saying, “Yo is this chick ok!???? Broooo like what is this. In the middle of Italy.”
Disick appeared to be jealous of her affection with with her new beau.
The couple went red carpet official at the 2021 MTV VMAs.
On October 17, 2021, Barker proposed to Kardashian on the beach in Montecito, California.
Kardashian and Barker spent the holidays with their family, and she shared some pics with the caption, “‘Twas the night before Christmas.”
The couple enjoyed a “practice” wedding in Las Vegas after the Grammys, and she shared photos of her and Barker at a chapel, explaining they were not actually married.
“Found these in my camera roll,” Kardashian wrote. “Once upon a time in a land far, far away (Las Vegas) at 2am, after an epic night and a little tequila, a queen and her handsome king ventured out to the only open chapel with an Elvis and got married (with no license). Practice makes perfect.”
Talk of having kids is on the table. A source speaking to Entertainment Tonight said that the couple is “so in love,” and they are “open to the idea of having children together and growing their family.”
It was added that “their families are both supportive of it too and just want them to be happy.”
They had another wedding ceremony in May, but this one was legally binding. TMZ broke the news that they were married on Sunday, May 15, in Santa Barbara. They left the scene of the courthouse in a convertible with a “Just Married” sign attached to its trunk.
People confirmed the news, with a source saying, “They had to legally get married first ahead of their big Italian wedding, which is happening very soon. All the details are set and the whole family, including all the kids, are very excited.”
The big ceremony took place in Portofino, Italy, and the event eventually became a special aired on Hulu.
In June, Barker had a scary and painful health complication and had to be hospitalized for pancreatitis. TMZ wrote he was checked into West Hills hospital, then transferred by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Later, Barker wrote on Instagram Stories, “I went in for an endoscopy Monday feeling great. But After dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since.”
He continued, “During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe life threatening pancreatitis.”
Barker concluded, “I am so very very grateful that with intensive treatment I am currently much better.”
On Stories, Kardashian wrote, “Oh what a scary and emotional week it has been. Our health is everything and sometimes we take for granted how quickly it can change. Travis and I went in for a routine endoscopy together and he ended up with severe, life-threatening pancreatitis.”
She added, “I am so grateful to God for healing my husband, for all of your prayers for him and for us, for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support. I am so touched and appreciative.”
She then thanked doctors and nurses at Cedars Sinai for their “wonderful care” of them both, writing, “It’s crazy how sometimes words could never truly express the gratitude or feelings I have inside me.”
Kardashian joined Travis Barker as he went on tour with Machine Gun Kelly, and shared some pictures of what it looks like being a “tour wife.”
Barker commented on the post, “Tour life’s better with you,” with a black heart and devil face emoji for a little emphasis. He later shared some pics of her too.
“Practice makes perfect,” he captioned it.
Which she re-shared, writing, “Time for drum practice.”
“Favorite time of the day,” Barker commented.
In September, Kardashian told WSJ magazine that she and Barker had decided to pause their fertility treatments when they were planning their wedding.
“We started an IVF journey, but I stopped. It was a lot,” she said. “I took a break to just focus on our wedding and getting married.”
Kardashian attended Barker’s Coachella set with Blink-182 and original bandmate Tom DeLonge.
“My first @blink182 show!” Kardashian wrote on a post about the night.
Barker then commented, “Your coming on tour with me.”
In May, Kardashian shared on the first episode of The Kardashians’ third season more about ending IVF.
“We are officially done with IVF,” she said in a confessional. “We would love a baby more than anything, but I just really believe in what God has in store for us. If that’s a baby, then I believe that it will happen.”
She said added that her seven frozen eggs from before she started dating Barker “didn’t survive, [and none of them] made it to an embryo.”
“The freezing of the eggs isn’t guaranteed,” she said. “I think that that’s a misunderstanding. People do it thinking that it’s like a safety net and it’s not.”
She added, “Whatever’s meant to be… Being happy is most important, and being a good parent to my kids.”
In June, Kardashian and Barker announced they were expecting a baby by having the POOSH founder hold up a sign reading, “Travis, I’m pregnant” at a Blink-182 concert.
Just one week later, they shared the baby’s sex with a shot of blue confetti: They are having a boy.
A source told Entertainment Tonight in June, “Kourtney and Travis are on cloud nine. This pregnancy is beyond Kourtney’s wildest dreams. Kourtney and Travis feel like this is one of the most magical things to happen to them and a complete miracle. They are so thrilled and can’t wait to experience this pregnancy together, bring a baby into the world as a unit, and expand and grow their families.”
Kardashian shared some very sexy maternity looks with the caption “lost and found.”
In September, Barker returned from his Blink-182 tour to join Kardashian at a hospital in Los Angeles, California. The couple were photographed leaving together, but there has been no announcement as to what the issue was. However, the band tweeted about changing tour plans in light of Barker’s exodus.
“Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States,” the band wrote. “The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed. More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available.”
Barker did share images of himself in an airport prayer room as he waited to travel to the U.S. from the U.K.
His ex, Shanna Moakler did comment to TMZ that the children she shares with Barker are “safe and sound.”
“When they have to cancel shows, it’s a big deal, so I am praying for his immediate family and the baby and Kourtney is safe and okay,” she added.
At the end of September, Barker and Kardashian celebrate their son’s upcoming arrival with a Disney-themed baby shower.
Fans speculated that Barker may have hinted that they plan to name their baby Rocky, as he liked a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, calling the name out as cute.
On Saturday, September 30, Kardashian shared a photo in her Instagram Story of a gorgeous rose bouquet sent to her by Barker after he returned to his tour with Blink-182. According to his Stories, Barker had touched down in Lisbon, Portugal.
On October 1, Kourtney shared some shots of one of her Halloween costumes as the “Bride of Frankenstein.”
In her Stories, she reposted a Reel from when she and Barker dressed up as the Bride and Frankenstein’s Monster.
Kourtney appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair Italia, and during the interview she discussed recovering from fetal surgery and moving beyond the experience.
“Right after the surgery, I reached the point where I let myself go and I stopped worrying,” she said. “Now I talk to the baby every day, have a positive mindset, keep my head straight, and say a lot of prayers…It took me a while to let go of the fear.”
Kardashian welcomed her first son with Barker in Los Angeles on November 1. His birth certificate was obtained by The Blast on November 16. The couple named him Rocky Thirteen Barker.
On an episode of The Kardashians, a few weeks later, Kardashian shared more about how the baby came to be, including that she conceived a year after giving up on IVF treatments. She says she had even given up on tracking her ovulation, but she still new when the baby was conceived.
“It happened on Valentine’s Day,” Kourtney announced.
In a confessional, a produce asked her to clarify, saying, “You know when it happened?”
Kourtney answered, “Yeah, of course. I mean, people would always say to us, ‘The second you stop trying it’s just gonna happen.’ We stopped doing IVF maybe two months before our wedding, so it took a year, I think, for all of those hormones and chemicals to get out of my system.”
She went on, “We were not trying whatsoever. I didn’t even check my ovulation anymore. We decided to put it in God’s hands. I thought it was just not happening, and we were, like, accepting of it, and then, God’s plan.”
The show went on to explain that Kourtney knew of her pregnancy all season and offered some flashbacks from previous moments alluding to a possible pregnancy.
“I mean, it truly feels like a miracle, being able to be pregnant and have a baby with the love of my life,” Kourtney concluded.
