Her last name should immediately ring bells: she’s the step-daughter of a famous comedian and talk and game show host, but her ascent to the top of the trending box seems a bit random at first until you actually click the hashtag. On Thursday morning, TMZ reported that Diddy and Lori Harvey were spotted walking down a NYC street “around midnight” on Wednesday night in semi-matching outfits, leading many to believe the 49-year-old and 22-year-old could possibly be an item. When TMZ first reported about the pair earlier in March, Diddy’s reps quickly shut down the rumors and said Harvey was just a “family friend.” Now that the pair were spotted again, Twitter theorists began to speculate that there’s more to the story. But who is Lori Harvey, anyways? Ahead, everything you need to know.
She has a famous step-father.
Lori Harvey is the step-daughter of Steve Harvey, who cut his teeth as a stand-up comedian in the 90s, longtime host of Showtime at the Apollo, star of 90s sitcom The Steve Harvey Show and actor in a series of films, including The Fighting Temptations, Love Don’t Cost a Thing, Johnson Family Vacation, You Got Served, and more. In 2010, he became the host of Family Feud, which he still hosts to this day, and launched his own talk show Steve in 2017, which aired its final episode this past June. Steve Harvey and Lori’s mother, Marjorie Bridges, tied the knot in 2007.
She’s a model and fashion It-girl.
If you’ve ever perused Lori’s Instagram account, there’s no denying her impeccable taste in fashion—and she gets it from her mother. Have you seen Marjorie’s style? Lori has walked in Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall/Winter 2017 runway show during Milan’s Mens Fashion Week alongside other celebrity offspring, including Diddy’s youngest son, Christian Combs. (She was rumored to be dating Diddy’s other son, Justin Combs, earlier this year.) In addition to her runway debut, Lori has also inked a deal with Pretty Little Thing as a model and brand ambassador with her own PLT edit on the website.
In an interview with BET, Lori opened up about breaking into the fashion industry. “I feel like you don’t see a lot of color in the fashion industry in general. You just don’t. I think I was one of five girls backstage at the show that was African-American,” she told BET. “Of course it was an honor, but it also shows girls that look like me that you can do this too, you can break into this industry and play a huge role in it. It’s very achievable, it’s very possible. So, I think it’s very important to hold open the door for the next person and the next generation of girls that see me and are like, OK, I can do that.”
She was engaged to an athlete.
Before Lori’s current relationship status became tabloid fodder, the 22-year-old was engaged to Dutch soccer player Memphis Depay in June 2017. Steve and Marjorie Harvey gave their daughter their blessing, writing a sweet post on Instagram shortly after the proposal.
“Marjorie and I are proud to announce the engagement of our youngest daughter @lori_harvey_ to @memphisdepay this young man is a good one! Looks like the 3rd daughter that I’m letting thru the gate,” he wrote. However, Memphis and Lori broke up sometime in 2018.
In December 2018, Lori was romantically linked to singer Trey Songz after paparazzi spotted the pair heading into a car presumably after a date.
