Hottest Hair for the Holidays

The holidays and are fast upon us. It’s the party season! There’s so much to think about, so much to plan. There’s the outfit, the makeup, the shoes…all very important in wowing the crowd. But one of the biggest impacts you can make under the mistletoe is with a truly fabulous hair-do! There are so many hot trends out there, but we’ve narrowed it down to a few that will be sure to help your merry-making even merrier!

  • The textured top knot – First wash and towel dry your hair. Apply mousse and scrunch while blow drying with a diffuser to create a nice textured wave. Flip your hair over and gather it at the top of your head, securing with a band. Then use a sock or mesh form to roll your hair into a bun. When all the hair is secured, strategically loosen pieces both within the bun and around your face. Perfection!
  • A deep side part – Starting with towel-dried hair, spray some volumizer onto your roots and gently blow dry. Depending on which side you naturally part your hair, you can go with that…or add even more volume by flipping hair to part on the alternate side. Using a fine tooth comb, and find the highest point of your eyebrow on that side…make the part there. Use a flat iron and curing tong to smooth flyaways and create soft, sultry waves.
  • A braid accent – No matter if you choose to go with your hair down, or up, a small braid tucked behind your ear, or woven into a bun, or placed over the top of your head (like a headband) will add a delightful whimsical touch!
  • Crystal accents – Everything sparkles during the holidays! So why not add a large crystal pin or brooch to your up-do, or to pin back your bangs low over your eyes? You can even add several brooches of different sizes to ensure you capture the sparkle in every light and with every movement.
  • A faux bob – Start with dry hair. Pull up the top half of your hair and secure with a clip. Then, working in small sections, begin curling hair around your fingers up toward your scalp and secure with bobby pins. Then release the top half of your hair. If it’s layered, you can let it waterfall over the pinned bottom half. If it is long, roll the ends under the pinned sections and pin in several places to secure it. Finish with a spritz of hairspray.
