Best maternity jeans on a budget

Congratulations, you have a new bundle of joy on the way! With the excitement of finding out you are pregnant aside you will soon be thinking about having to restock your wardrobe. Many mums swear by a great pair of maternity jeans which will help keep you looking stylish and comfortable from early pregnancy when your bump first shows itself right through to post pregnancy when all you want is a little comfort. There are two main types of maternity jeans, with a stretchy panel that fits over your bump or a panel that fits below your bump. It really is personal choice on which you prefer and for each category below I will list both an over and under the belly type of maternity jeans.

Skinny Jeans:

Skinny jeans are probably the most popular jeans on the market today and maternity style is no different. A good pair of maternity skinny jeans will look great against your growing bump, and look great teamed with a maternity t-shirt. Most stores offer skinny jeans which fit below your bump and skinny jeans which fit above your bump, and will help to keep you cool and comfortable throughout the duration of your pregnancy. Maternity skinny jeans are also great to wear in a more dressier setting too, so pair with an evening maternity top to take your maternity outfit from day to night.

Boyfriend Jeans:

Boyfriend jeans are known for being comfortable and roomy and therefore a great option for the duration of your pregnancy. They are not too tight around the legs and are great for creating a casual yet stylish look. Pair these with a relaxed maternity t-shirt, an open plaid shirt and some comfortable canvas shoes on your feet. Like other types of jeans, boyfriend jeans designed for maternity use have bands which fit either comfortably over your bump or under your bump.

Denim shorts:

If you are pregnant throughout the summer you might want to invest in a pair of maternity shorts, and there are some great denim shorts suitable for pregnant women. Being pregnant throughout the summer months can be uncomfortable so it is definitely advisable to try and keep yourself as cool as possible.

Bootcut jeans:

Looking for some bootcut maternity jeans which you can wear on a night out? Bootcut jeans look stylish when paired with heels, if this is a look you wish to pursue while you are pregnant, or a pair of ballerina flats. Pair some bootcut maternity jeans with a classic black camisole top and a clutch purse to stay stylish and well put together throughout your pregnancy.
