Women’s Workwear Trends That You’ll Love

Sure…there are tons of gorgeous trends popping up for Spring 2016. But how many of them can actually translate to your work wardrobe, huh? Workwear deserves a little Spring love doesn’t it? Sure it does! And, as it turns out, there are some really amazing pieces on offer that are perfect for jazzing up the office too!

Statement slacks – Who says the workplace has to be boring? Think prints! The key to rocking an upbeat print in the workplace is to keep it tailored and make it the focal point of the outfit. Look for tailored cigarette or cropped pants with prints, like these or these, or bold wide leg cropped trousers like these. Pair them with pumps and a top in a solid color with no pattern…even a plain tee will fit the bill, since you can always dress it up with jewelery and a belt.

Embellished top – Why save the blingy tops for evenings out or special occasions? Contrary to popular belief, they can be worn to the office…provided you do it the right way. The key here is a top with just enough embellishment (save the full-on sequin shirt for Friday night with the girls), and balance the outfit by ensuring the rest of the pieces are neutral (non-shiny). For instance, tops like this and this would be perfect paired with a pencil skirt or wide leg trousers. If you are hesitant to go this glitzy, you can always layer on a cardigan or blazer.

Bold pattern piece – The trend here is wearing a piece with a bold graphic or floral pattern. Again, as with the two style pieces above, make this the focal piece of your outfit. Don’t let it compete with any texture, jewelery, or other pattern. A graphic blouse like this one, a floral like this one, or a bold floral dress like this will fit in just fine with your revamped Spring workwear style!

White suit – Sure, you’ve got the play-it-safe black, navy, grey, and/or brown suit jacket and matching pant…and all those are all great. Those suits will always be classic office attire, and they can always be dressed up with other pieces. But to really embrace Spring trends, you need to expand your suit repertoire to include the white power suit. Whether you opt for a skirt suit or a pants suit, your fresh suit will be a breath of fresh air at the office.

The LRD – A career woman’s gotta be well-rounded, right? For after-hours cocktails, that means pulling out something unexpected and fashion-forward, yet still undeniably professional and powerful. Anyone can retreat to the “safe zone” and throw on a little black dress …but you, my dear, will be showing up with the Spring 2016 version: the little red dress. With stunners like this, this, and this, your professional wardrobe style will be an undeniable hit!
