Netflix is slowly but surely becoming a vault for nostalgia TV and movies, from classic sitcoms like Friends and That 70s Show to newer additions like the 80s-inspired Stranger Things and Full House remake Fuller House. So why stop there? Netflix is diving even further into the throwback pool by turning the beloved Ann M. Martin novels The Baby-Sitters Club into a full series and announced that a famous 90s icon is joining the cast.

This will be the third time that the YA books have been adapted for the screen. Here’s everything we know so far about the latest Baby-Sitters Club so far.

What is The Baby-Sitter’s Club?

The Baby-Sitters Club is a book series created by Ann M. Martin that first launched in 1986, which follows the lives of five teens who launch their own babysitting business and takes us along the ride as the teens experience all the ups and downs that come with their new endeavor. Martin wrote 35 novels in the series from 1986 until 2000. Before Netflix announced it would be adapting the book series, The Baby-Sitter’s Club was turned into a TV series in 1990 on HBO and ran for one season (13 episodes) as well as a full-length feature film in 1995.

When will it be released on Netflix?

Netflix announced earlier in February that it would be rebooting the classic book series. “Get ready to be reunited with The Baby-Sitters Club — a.k.a Kristy, Mary-Anne, Claudia, Stacey, and Dawn,” the streaming giant wrote on Twitter.

That said, the series is still in its nascent stage and hasn’t officially received a release date, but will be 10 half-hour episodes. Netflix also revealed that Glow and Supergirl screenwriter Rachel Shukert will join the team as the showrunner and Broad City alum Lucia Aniello will serve as the director.

Who will star in the series?

It doesn’t get more nineties than Alicia Silverstone—who starred as Cher, the protagonist of the pop culture classic Clueless. Netflix tapped the actress to star as Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer, Kristy Thomas’s mother in the BSC remake. Royal Pains alum Mark Feuerstein will also join Silverstone as her love interest and Kristy’s step-father, Watson Brewer.
