Welcome back to Shop with Style and Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season, a wonderful new year and that you are ready for 2017. We’are kicking off 2017 with a post all about how to get the best out of your winter wardrobe. With winter still in full swing but the new year already making our minds think about spring, it is time to make sure we get the most out of our winter wardrobes. So dig deep and find those items you absolutely must use beforehand the winter season is over.
All the coats
If you are anything like me then you will love winter because it is a chance to wear an incredible collection of coats, although you tend to stick to the same coat all winter. Make it your goal through January and February to wear those other coats you have tucked away in your wardrobe, from winter jackets to smart blazers. If you do not wear them this year make a note to donate them and free up the space.
All those pairs of winter boots
Another bad habit of mine is buying lots of pairs of winter boots over the years, keeping them all and then wearing the same two pairs all winter long. Make a promise to yourself to wear some other pairs more before the end of the winter season. It might be rain boots for winter walks, knee high boots for a night out or even ankle boots for a casual winter day.
Enjoy the cooler weather by wearing all your winter sweaters specifically designed for the winter while it’s still cold enough. Pair wool sweaters with chunky knit scarves, a cute beanie and those winter boots you have been stuffing at the back of your wardrobe.
While I am admitting to all the winter items I like to hoard in my wardrobe another popular item or items, are winter accessories; hats, gloves and scarves. With lots of these gathered over time and only able to wear one of each at any one time, many get shoved in the back of the closet never to see the light of day again. Make his time all about pre-spring cleaning your closest and either commit to wearing it and give it a wear before the winter season is over or set it aside to donate to charity instead.
Enjoy shopping through your wardrobe and finding those items you had forgotten that you owned and get a little more wear out of them this winter season.
