Watch What Kanye West Told Kim Kardashian When She Worried She Couldn’t Study Law and Take Care of Baby #4

Kim Kardashian announced publicly in April that she has been studying to become a lawyer for the past year. And the new season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians has been documenting the beginning days of that journey, along with the doubts Kardashian initially had that she’d be able to do everything. She and West are welcoming their fourth child this month via surrogate, but she will remain in her law apprenticeship and studying for another three years before taking the bar.

In a clip exclusively premiering on ELLE.com ahead of this week’s episode, Kardashian admits to her husband Kanye West that she’s feeling overwhelmed and unsure whether she should continue with her law studies. Watch it below:

“I don’t know what to do,” Kardashian told West in the clip. “How am I going to have another kid? How am I going to study? How am I going to read? How am I going to do this all? I’m just—I have like, a 14-hour day. It’s a lot, a lot of work. I kind of don’t know if I want to take away time from the kids and from you.”

West responded with some candid advice. “I think you can get in control of your schedule, and you’ve just got to just sit back and analyze what are your distractions?” he began. “Once you manage your time, you’ll be able to manage your time to be able to give attention to me, attention to the kids, and attention to law that you’re passionate about.”

“Yeah,” Kardashian conceded.

Then West gave her a pep talk: “You know what’s fire about that? Just while we’re so blessed, it’s like to be able to get the mentors [Kardashian’s supervisors at the firm she’s apprenticing at]. Like that means the universe really wants this to happen, like, it’s beautiful. It’s like your dad [Robert Kardashian, a famous lawyer].”

West ended the conversation on a lighter note. “Maybe you can find somebody to get me out of some of my f*cked up deals,” he quipped. “My wife a lawyer now, bet you I get out this contract, you know what I’m saying?”

“I know you can’t wait until then, but in four years, I can go to court for you,” Kardashian told him, much more confidently.

In a confessional, Kardashian explained her husband has always been her biggest supporter: “From day one, Kanye has always been someone in my life who has always pushed me to do what I want to do no matter what the rules are, no matter what people say, so the fact that he is supporting me in this journey, knowing that for the next four years it would take time away from him and our kids, means a lot to me and gives me the confidence that I really need and that like, extra push of someone around me to be like, ‘I know you can do it! Like, you’ve got this.’”
